Women’s Super League (WSL)
The Women’s Super League (WSL), known as the Barclays Women’s Super League (BWSL) for sponsorship reasons, is the highest league of women’s football in England. Established in 2010, it was run by the Football Association (FA) until the 2024/25 season, when NewCo took over. It features twelve fully professional teams. The team that finishes bottom of the table each season is relegated to the lower league – Women’s Championship – and the top WC team is promoted up to the WSL for the next season.
