Chloe Kelly smiles again as 56K cheer her on, Arsenal women thump Spurs
Chloe Kelly – lioness and Women’s Super League legend, is home. The Londoner made her first appearance for the Arsenal women’s team in seven years and honestly, I was filled with immense pride and joy at her return.
We may never really know what happened at Man City or why Chloe Kelly fell out of favour so badly with the club and management that they briefed journalists against her, but one thing is for sure – their loss is North London’s gain.
Kelly bounced onto the pitch to the applause of more than 56,000 fans at the Emirates – and the smile on her face said it all.
Welcome home Kelly, welcome back to London, now let’s get to work ensuring you get a place at the summer’s Euros.

Chloe Kelly has a point to prove
Kelly’s return draws a line under a difficult spell at Man City, where she struggled for game time, subsequently seeing her dropped from the next lioness camp.
England boss Sarina Weigman has clarified it doesn’t mean Kelly is out of the Euros squad, but let’s face it, getting minutes at Arsenal will be a must if she has any hope of booking her seat on the plane to Switzerland.
We need Kelly in the squad for the upcoming Euros, she’s a seasoned player who has already tasted Euro’s success with the Lionesses. Now she’s back home, hopefully, she’ll start enjoying playing football again, get minutes, find form and make City look foolish.
