The WSL is back in action this weekend, as the race for the title heats up – whilst the relegation battle appears to be settled. Friday saw Brighton take on Everton, another match kicks off on Saturday whilst everyone else is in action on Sunday.
WSL fixtures Saturday 20/04
WSL fixtures this Saturday | Kick-off | Where to watch |
---|---|---|
Bristol City vs Liverpool | 12:30 | The FA Player |
League strugglers Bristol City will welcome Liverpool on Saturday. It looks set that Bristol will be relegated – with only a handful of games left, it’ll be impossible for them to climb out of the drop. They currently sit with just 6 points and have lost their last 5 matches.
WSL fixtures on Sunday 21/04
Man Utd vs Tottenham | 12:00 | The FA Player |
Arsenal vs Leicester | 14:00 | The FA Player |
Man City vs West Ham | 14:15 | BBC iPlayer, BBC Red Button, BBC Sport Website |
A win for Manchester City will see them return to the top of the table – they’re currently in second place on goal difference alone. City will be aware of Chelsea’s two-goal difference and will want to close the gap, so we expect City will be aiming for goals galore on Sunday.
Arsenal cannot afford to slip up again, they’re in third and 6 points off the top. Every game is now a must-win for the Gunners if they have any hope of winning the title (and they’ll have to hope City and Chelsea slip up). They’ve also got a much smaller goal difference so they need to make their matches count and try to close that gap.
Manchester United will welcome Spurs to the North. It’ll be an interesting preview into this season’s FA Cup final – where United and Spurs will face off at Wembley.
