Brighton 1-1 Manchester United: Parris brings United’s run to an end
Former Man Utd player Nikita Parris put an end to United’s 100% winning start in the new WSL season by snagging a point for Brighton.
Man Utd took an early lead in front of more than 8,000 fans at the Amex Stadium thanks to Grace Clinton but early in the second half Parris was able to pull a goal back.
United dominated much of the first half with Brighton struggling to cope with the press.
But seconds into the second half, Brighton’s determination was rewarded when a glancing header from Parris found the back of the net.
United’s domination slowed down in the second half with the game looking like it could go either way. Both Fran Kirby (Brighton) and Ella Toone (United) forced the keepers to make saves with a handful of longe-range strikes.
The 1-1 draw means United moved to the top of the table on goal difference, tied on 10 points with Brighton and Manchester City.
